Operating Committees

The EDTA Board of Directors has formed four operating committees open to all EDTA members:

  • The Communications and Media Relations Committee, chaired by Clay Perry, Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI)
  • The GoElectricDrive Committee, chaired by Robert Graham, Southern California Edison, an Edison International company
  • The Public Policy Committee, chaired by Scott Gerke, Honda North America Inc.

Communications and Media Relations Committee

The Communications and Media Relations Committee creates the EDTA communications plan; develops and implements the communications piece of EDTA policy initiatives; industry message development and outreach; and, plans media activities for the EDTA Conference series. The committee's work reflects decisions and plans set by the Board and other EDTA committees. The committee also works closely with the Media and Outreach Committee of the GoElectricDrive initiative and also assists EDTA and EDTA members with media interviews. Additionally, the committee provides guidance for the development of the Association's websites.

GoElectricDrive

GoElectricDrive is a consortium of automakers, utilities, battery, charging and component manufacturers, trade associations, non-profits and government entities dedicated to realizing the potential of plug-in electric vehicles (PEVs).

GoElectricDrive’s mission is to educate consumers, policymakers and key industry sectors on the benefits of PEVs for our transportation needs – without compromising comfort, safety or performance – using more affordable, domestically-produced electricity – while reducing pollution. GoElectricDrive also systematically addresses market and institutional barriers to widespread adoption of PEV’s.

Public Policy Committee

Evaluates and promotes public policies and programs to accelerate development and commercialization of electric drive transportation technologies; educates policymakers and stakeholders about the benefits of electric drive technologies; identifies opportunities to extend the reach of the organization on Capitol Hill and the electric drive industries; and provides timely information to the general membership about issues and action relevant to EDTA’s mission and goals.
