What is EDTA?

 

The Electric Drive Transportation Association (EDTA) is the preeminent US industry association dedicated to the promotion of electric drive as the best means to achieve the highly efficient and clean use of secure energy in the transportation sector. Since 1989, we have supported the sustainable commercialization of all electric drive transportation technologies by providing in-depth information, education, industry networking, public policy advocacy and international conferences and exhibitions

 

What is EDTA's mission statement?

 

The Electric Drive Transportation Association (EDTA) is the preeminent trade association representing battery, hybrid, plug-in hybrid and fuel cell electric drive technologies and infrastructure.

EDTA conducts public policy advocacy, education, industry networking, and international conferences.

EDTA’s membership includes automotive and other equipment manufacturers, energy companies, technology developers, component suppliers, and government agencies.

 

What connections/networking opportunities exist through the EDTA?

 

Significant cross-industry networking opportunities exist at our events, meetings, and annual and international conferences. As a unified voice for the electric drive industry, our membership includes a diverse representation of vehicle and equipment manufacturers, energy providers, component suppliers, public agencies and end users. Each year we strive to continually raise the bar on providing a world-stage in which our participating members have highly visible branding and speaking opportunities, benefit from relevant and rich program content, and participate in the best cross-industry networking opportunities in the industry.

 

Who should I submit my membership application to?

 

Membership applications should be submitted to the Membership Department at membership@electricdrive.org or by fax at +1 (202) 408-7610.

 

How will I know if my company's membership application has been approved?

 

Upon receipt of your application, you will receive an email or phone call from an EDTA staff member. Within two weeks, your primer contact you will also receive a “New Member Welcome Packet” via traditional mail.

 

How long does it take for membership to be activated?

 

Your membership is active upon receipt of your signed application. Please allow up to 24 hours to process your application and to be assigned a username and password for access the EDTA website. You will receive an email notification with this information. Others from your organization are welcome to request a username and password to benefit from the Members Only section of the site too.

 

What types of membership do you offer and what are the requirements to become a member?

 

There are different eligibility requirements for our membership tiers. Tier II to Tier VI: Your company is directly involved in the electric drive industry. Tier I/Associate: Your company is an educational, charitable, or government organization or is not directly involved in the electric drive industry

Please Note: Tier I and Associate members are not eligible for Premium membership or participation in the Policy Committee.

 

What membership benefits will I receive?

 

All members receive “Member Only”access to EDTA’s website (with downloadable policy position papers, bill comparisons, and industry studies), discounted registration and exhibit fees for all EDTA conferences and regional events and for select non-EDTA events, preferred placement for your announcements on EDTA’s website and in newsletters, and much more. What are the benefits of upgrading to a Premium membership (Tiers II-VI only)?

 

For Tier II-VI members, EDTA offers the basic General memberships and upgraded Premium memberships. Additional benefits of Premium membership include:

Eligibility for a seat on the EDTA Board of Directors


Participation privileges on the EDTA Public Policy Steering Committee


Eligibility for participation in the Governance Committee


Participation in meetings with key Congressional and Administration representatives


Preferred speaking opportunities

Can my company's membership be upgraded?

How long will my membership last?

 

Membership lasts for one year. Membership application is a one-time process and your membership automatically renews as long as dues are up-to-date.

 

Can I participate in active committee groups with the EDTA?

 

Yes. All member can participate in the Communications and Media Relations, and GoElectricDrive Committees. Participation in the Public Policy Committee is limited to EDTA Tier II – VI members.

 

If my company is already a member, do I have access to the members-only materials?

 

All employees of member companies have full web access and opportunities to participate on our committee groups. Login and password to the website may be requested from Erica Waters at ewaters@electricdrive.org or +1 (202) 408-0774 Ext. 313.

 

How do I know if my company is a member of the EDTA?

You can access the EDTA website by visiting http://www.electricdrive.org/ and log-in at the top right corner. You can access GoElectricDrive at http://www.goelectricdrive.com/

How may I pay my membership or renewal dues?

 

Membership and renewal payments can be made by Automated Clearing House (ACH), wire transfer, check, or credit card.  For ACH and wire transfer information, contact eoney@electricdrive.org.

 

How often are dues paid?
