Washington, D.C.—July 21,
2010—From Brian Wynne, President, Electric
Drive Transportation Association
(EDTA):
“S. 3495, the Promoting
Electric Vehicles Act of 2010, as reported by
the Senate Energy and Natural Resources
Committee, represents an important next step in
accelerating the adoption of plug-in electric
drive vehicles in the U.S. The bill has evolved
in important ways, including establishing a
national deployment effort to accompany the
regional ones, and is a critical element of any
energy bill going forward.
“EDTA
thanks the bill’s authors and the Chairman
for their leadership on this legislation and
looks forward to working with them to build on
this to map an even more comprehensive electric
drive plan—integrating all the oil-displacing
electric drive technologies, fuel cells,
hybrids, and plug-ins—across the national
vehicle fleet.”
